
Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
Spaghetti is such a classic and even better when you make the sauce from scratch instead of using the same old jar sauce.
Equipment
- Cutting Board
- Chef Knife
- Pot
- Strainer
- Saute Pan
- Heat resistant spoon/spatula
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb Ground Beef
- 1/2 box Spaghetti
- 1/2 each Onion diced
- 1 each Carrot peeled and diced
- 1/2 can Diced Tomato
- 1/2 can Tomato Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oregano
- 1 Tbsp Thyme
- 1 Tbsp Basil
- Parmesan optional
- Olive Oil as needed
- Salt as needed
- Pepper as needed
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook pasta to al dente, drain and reserve (toss in a bit of oil to help with sticking)
- Heat a saute pan and add in the ground meat. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 2-3 minutes and break up the meat while it browns.
- Add in the onion, carrot, garlic and herbs. Cook 3 minutes.
- Stir in the tomatoes and tomato products. Simmer 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning and toss together with the pasta.
- Top with parmesan if using.
- Serve and Enjoy!
