
Mediterranean Steak Salad
Traditional Mediterranean flavors make this dish a winner! Balsamic and herb rubbed steak goes great with fresh, crispy veggies and a light vinaigrette.
Equipment
- Cutting Board
- Chef Knife
- Ziplock Bag or Large Dish
- Saute Pan
- Tongs
- Mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 10 oz Steak
- 2 oz Balsamic Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Dry Thyme
- 1 Tbsp Dry Basil
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1/2 each Lemon zest, juice
- 1/2 each Orange zest, juice
- 1 head Romaine Lettuce chopped, washed
- 1 each Tomato large dice
- 1/2 each Cucumber large dice
- Olive Oil as needed
- Salt as needed
- Pepper as needed
- Vinaigrette your choice
Instructions
- In a ziplock or a large dish marinate both the steak for the salad and for the marinated steak dish. Marinate it with oil, balsamic vinegar, lemon zest, orange zest, garlic, basil and thyme. (seasoning with salt and pepper will be before cooking) Let marinate for about 30 mins-1hr
- Heat a saute pan on high and add in a bit of oil. Sear the steak on each side. Cook to your preferred doneness. Let rest and cool before serving. Slice for the salad.
- Toss the greens, tomato, and cucumber together. Top with the steak and drizzle dressing over the top.
- Serve & Enjoy!
Notes
Marinating the steak can be done ahead of time.
